We’ve collated key insights from employees across large-to-medium businesses, to reveal the level of understanding around cyber security and prioritising data protection across the U.K., U.S and Europe.

The survey found that businesses are concerningly complacent about cyber security training and processes that prevent data breaches, with the responses indicating that a lack of budget, insufficient technical expertise and mis-prioritisation are key factors behind this.

The findings highlight that businesses need to focus on providing cyber security training and cementing recovery processes – particularly in the UK – as respondents reported a significant increase in data breaches and phishing attacks following the shift to remote working.

Shockingly, more than half (52%) of respondents said that cyber security was not a priority for the business. In an increasingly digital world, this is an absolute necessity for risk management, compliance and security. Without appropriate protection, a business is left vulnerable to cyber attacks with significant financial and reputational repercussions.
